MN PIRC offers Parent Power Conference

MN PIRC is offering “Parent Power Conference,” a free event for parents of children in public school. It is on Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. (dinner is from 5 to 5:45 p.m.) at NorthWest Suburban Integration School District Offices, 6860 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, Minn. Registration is required.

Keynote speaker Dr. Verna Price, an author and motivational speaker, will present “The Power of Parents: Using Personal Power to Maximize Educational Results for Kids.”

Parents are invited to come learn how to:

  • Find community resources available to families
  • Build parent leadership skills
  • Help their children learn and grow up healthy
