PACER offers family leadership summit for parents of young children with disabilities
PACER Center is offering “2010 Family Leadership Summit,” a free event for Minnesota parents of young children with special needs or health concerns who serve (or would like to serve) on Interagency Early Intervention Committees (IEICs). It is on Saturday, May 1, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Advance registration by April 15 is required.
Parents will have an opportunity to network with other parents, enhance leadership skills, and learn how to influence public policy for young children with disabilities.

PACER Center is a parent center for families of children and young adults with any disability. PACER provides individual assistance, workshops, publications, and other resources to help families make decisions about education and other services for their child or young adult with any disability. Its programs include the Early Childhood Family Information and Resource Project, which offers free information and resources to Minnesota families of children with disabilities from birth through age 5. The early childhood project is funded with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education. The source of the funds is from federal awards, Special Education Part B 619 and Part C.-30-
