PACER workshop addresses mental health disabilities and juvenile justice
PACER Center is offering “Youth with Mental Health and Other Disabilities in the Juvenile Justice System,” a free workshop for professionals, including attorneys, social workers, probation officers, and other correction staff. It is on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Advance registration is requested.
Participants will learn about:
- New information and trends in juvenile justice and youth with disabilities
- Truancy charges and the role of special education
- School-based charges of youth with disabilities
- Positive and cost-effective strategies and models
- Questions to ask
