PACER workshop addresses mental health medications for children
PACER Center is offering “Children Taking Medications for Mental Health Reasons,” a free workshop for parents of children who currently take medications for mental health reasons and for education professionals. It is on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m., at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Advance registration is requested.
Participants at this helpful workshop are invited to learn about:
- Medications that are commonly used to treat mental health issues in children
- How to talk to children about the medications they are taking
- Ways to listen effectively to children’s feelings
- Strategies to encourage children to continue taking their medications
