PACER workshop focus on early education for young children with disabilities

PACER Center is offering “Engaged Parents Equal Successful Children,” a free workshop for parents of children from birth to age 7 with developmental delays or disabilities. It is on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Advance registration is requested.

Parents are their child’s first teacher. This workshop will provide parents with ideas on how to be active participants in their child’s early education and set the foundation for future learning.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to build relationships with school staff
  • Learn about Minnesota’s early learning standards
  • Learn about PACER resources that enhance family involvement
  • Network with other families

To register, call PACER at 952-838-9000. In Greater Minnesota, call 800-537-2237 (toll free) or visit PACER.org.
