PACER to Host Bullying Prevention InstaMeet at Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying Oct. 3 in Bloomington, Minn

Minneapolis: As part of its Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying event on Oct. 3, PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center will host its first bullying prevention InstaMeet. PACER’s InstaMeet is one of hundreds of gatherings that will occur across the globe during Instagram’s 12th Worldwide InstaMeet held the weekend of October 3-4.

Instagrammers can participate in the InstaMeet by taking photos during the event and posting them on Instagram with the hashtags #PACERMeet and #WWIM12. “We are thrilled to host our very first bullying prevention InstaMeet,” said Paula Goldberg, PACER’s executive director. “By connecting to new people and sharing photos and videos of the Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying event on Instagram, participants can help spread the message that bullying is not acceptable, and we are all working together against bullying.”

The 6th Annual Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying, presented by American Dairy Queen and Friends of PACER, features a 4-mile chip-timed run and 2-mile walk or roll, and offers an opportunity for adults and students to help raise awareness and funds to support bullying prevention. It will be held at Normandale Lake Park, Normandale Boulevard and W. 84th Street, in Bloomington, Minn. October is National Bullying Prevention Month which was initiated by PACER in 2006.

Event check-in and onsite registration is at 9 a.m., and free parking is available in the large lot off of W. 84th Street and Chalet Road. The run and walk or roll begins at 10 a.m., followed by entertainment, guest speakers, and family fun, including activities for kids, door prizes, snacks and beverages, face painting, and a photo booth. Participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and water bottle, and a Dairy Queen Dilly® Bar after the race.

The entry fee for Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying is $20 per person for adults, $10 for ages 7 to 15, and free for children 6 and under. To register, visit PACER.org/bullying/nbpm/RunWalkRoll or call (952) 838-9000.
