PACER Center workshop in Bemidji will explore challenging behaviors

Minneapolis: PACER Center will offer “Responding to Challenging Behaviors at Home, at School, and in the Community,” a free workshop for parents of children with disabilities. The workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2422 Ridgeway Ave. N.W., Bemidji.

Children with challenging behaviors can be successful at home, at school, and in the community with the right kind of support. When adults understand a child’s behavior and learn how to respond effectively, positive outcomes can happen.

Parents can be effective advocates in this process. The workshop will address:

  • Identifying behaviors and what they mean
  • Understanding mental health and behavior
  • Improving our response to challenging behaviors
  • Navigating school and community supports and services

To register for this free workshop, contact PACER Center at (952) 838-9000 or (800) 537-2237 (toll free), or visit
