PACER’s Simon Technology Center to host Family Fun Day on Sept. 23

Minneapolis: On Saturday, Sept. 23, PACER’s Simon Technology Center will provide an exciting opportunity to try out the latest in assistive technology, including adapted toys, 3D printers, robots, and more, and see firsthand how life-changing these devices can be!

The Simon Technology Center’s annual Family Fun Day and Tech Expo is a free community event that will feature fun activities for all ages and abilities. Participants can interact with a variety of devices for children, teens, and adults.

PACER staff and volunteers will provide hands-on activities as well as opportunities to learn about a wide range of assistive technology that can help individuals from birth to adulthood gain independence. There will be mini sessions to see iPad app demonstrations, accessible art and do-it-yourself technology, information about PACER’s resources, and light refreshments.

Children and youth with disabilities, their families, and professionals are encouraged to attend.

“Our Family Fun Day is a great time to see what we have to offer,” said Bridget Gilormini, director of PACER’s Simon Technology Center. “Visitors can meet our staff and see the many ways we help children and families be successful at home, at school, and in the community with assistive technology.”
