POSITION:Development Coordinator
SUPERVISOR:Mary Schrock, Director of Development and Chief Operations Officer
STATUS:Full-time, Exempt

Position is a member of the “PACER Development Team” and participates in all aspects of the department with a concentration on activities specified below. This position works with volunteers, funders, sponsors, community representatives, and interfaces with many staff. It is a team-based, collegial, and energetic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ROLES

  • Grant Writing and Promotion

    1. Conduct grant research and write grants for PACER’s projects
    2. Call, communicate, and build relationships with foundation officers
    3. Make contacts with new corporations and foundations
    4. Assist with writing articles for Development Department’s donor newsletter
    5. Develop content and provide updates for development web pages
    6. Coordinate social media communications for PACER
    7. Draft letters and other materials for PACER
    8. Additional duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Annual Benefit and Special Events

    1. Provide support for Benefit Performer logistics prior to Benefit and day of event
    2. Coordinate development and dissemination (printed and electronic) of all Annual Benefit promotional materials, including media materials
    3. Assist with planning and executing other aspects of the Benefit, such as raffle, Extravaganza, etc.
    4. Coordinate promotion, scheduling and logisitics for large conferences, such as the Symposium
    5. Assist with development, promotion, and coordination of special events and projects, including the Benefit
    6. Provide staff support, as needed, with special events
  • Committees and Advisory Boards

    1. Coordinate Young Professionals Advisory Board including scheduling, agendas, minutes and activities
    2. Provide staff support, as needed, with committees

REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in writing
  • Ability to use discretion and diplomacy when communicating with donors and sponsors
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Experience in event planning for conferences with over 1000 participants
  • Experience in coordinating conference agendas, including speaker logistics, participant logistics and facilities logistics
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to issues, current information, and research related to persons with disabilities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on several projects
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers and coordinate projects
  • Ability to work independently and participate in team planning and decision-making process
  • Above average proficiency of computer software programs; primarily Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and  FileMaker Pro
  • Ability to keep confidentiality about community members, donors, volunteers and staff
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with community members, donors, volunteers, and staff

Salary to be determined based on experience.
