“Welcoming, Honoring, and Connecting Conference” – Oct. 22 & 23

Come to the Minnesota Parent Center’s third annual dinner and conference to learn new ways to support your child’s education. The free event includes a dinner (Thursday, Oct. 22, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.,) and a conference (Friday, Oct. 23, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) that features informative breakout sessions and an inspiring keynote presentation by Minnesota Rep. Mindy Greiling. It’s at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN.

If you’re looking for programs that will help prepare your baby, toddler, or preschooler for school and life, check out this Web site from Parent Aware. It evaluates child care and early childhood providers in various areas of the state, then gives each one a star rating. Parent Aware is a project of Child Care Resource and Referral, a Minnesota nonprofit organization that works to ensure positive beginnings for all young children and their families. Learn more.

Participate in Minnesota Parent Involvement Month and celebrate the powerful role parents play in their children’s education. Nominate Your Child’s School to Win the Statewide Family-friendly School Contest

Does your child’s school do a great job of involving you in your child’s education? If so, let the world know. Schools recognized for doing great things with families will receive an award plaque from the Minnesota Parent Center, MN PIRC and the Minnesota Department of Education.
