Individual Assistance

Parents of children with disabilities can contact a PACER parent advocate to discuss parenting issues.

Parenting Workshops

Parenting workshops are specifically designed for parents that are parenting children with disabilities, between the ages of birth to seven. Topics such as child development, early learning skills, effective communication, and how to understand and cope with behavioral issues using positive behavior interventions are addressed.

These workshops can be tailored for small groups to meet the specific needs of parents attending. For more information contact kim.kang@pacer.org or judy.swett@pacer.org.

Parent to Parent Support Institute

The Parent to Parent Support Institute is designed to train parent leaders who are interested in helping other parents of children with disabilities (birth to age 7). Participants of this training will serve their community in a leadership capacity and provide assistance to other parents.

Parent Mentorship Program

The Parent Mentorship Program provides access to parents of children with disabilities (birth to age 7) to other parents of children with disabilities (birth to age 7) who have received training in mentoring. Parent mentors are matched with other parents based on needs and preferences. The mentoring role is facilitated through PACER.
