My Child Is on an IEP
The Discipline is:
suspension from the bus and transportation is not listed on my child’s IEP.
Response:
Because transportation is not on your child’s IEP a suspension from the bus is not a change of placement* and does not count as a removal of a child from school. Therefore, you must provide transportation to and from school for your child.
Tip: If the behavior on the bus is similar to the behavior in school that is already addressed by an IEP, you should request an IEP meeting to discuss addressing the bus behavior in your child’s IEP and Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP)*.
