EX.I.T.E. Camp Teacher Positions

PACER Center is seeking applicants for in-person camp teacher positions for EX.I.T.E. Camp 2024. This position provides a stipend, professional development opportunities in classroom learning, and a chance to learn new ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. If you are interested in assisting campers with STEM activities, encouraging teamwork and creativity, and honing your classroom management skills, please complete the application. What is it?

EXploring Interests in Technology and Engineering (EX.I.T.E.) Camp is a fun and educational program that allows girls and other marginalized genders with disabilities to explore the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. The goal is to inspire girls to continue to pursue these areas of study through hands-on experiments and activities. PACER Center partners with local and national technology companies, guest speakers, to provide rich learning content. We strive to provide an accessible, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages learning and excitement for all campers. EX.I.T.E. Camp is held in-person at the PACER office (Bloomington, MN).

Tuesday, July 9 Opening Ceremony 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 10 Day 1 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, July 12 Day 2 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, July 15 Day 3 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, July 17 Day 4 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, July 19 Day 5 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, July 19 Closing Ceremony 4 to 5:30 p.m.

What is my role?

The teacher’s main role is to support campers as they engage in hands-on STEM activities. Teachers will also provide daily icebreaker activities, and classroom management strategies and implement de-escalation techniques and interventions as needed.  

Am I compensated?

Accepted teachers will receive a stipend and a verification of hours certificate.  

Who can apply?

Any individuals willing to support students in a stimulating learning experience. Teachers in special education services and an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math fields or previous camp experiences are recommended.
