RSA Parent Training Programs Assist Parents, Youth, and Professionals

Numbers Served: Professionals=34% (10,894); Parents=35% (11,226); Youth=31% (9,754)

"The teen group that my daughter participates in has really made a difference."

-California Parent

This project collected data on the number of youth directly served by parent training programs funded by the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)—not just the number of parents and professionals served.

It is significant that youth or young adults with disabilities comprise almost one third (31%) of participants directly served by programs. Parents or family members comprise slightly more than one third (35%) of those receiving direct assistance. Professionals also utilize the training, information, and assistance of these programs as they comprise a final third (34%) of those served.
