In the event of inclement weather, PACER Center may cancel workshops. If you are registered for a workshop, we will contact you about cancellations. Also, please check this site the day of the workshop for a possible cancellation due to weather problems.

Workshops with this notice means that this workshop offers an off-site attendance option: a video-streaming service will broadcast the workshop live over the Internet so people who can’t attend the workshop in person can view the presentation live on their computer or tablet. The link to the Livestream channel is in the workshop confirmation you receive after you register. All events are free. You do not need a Livestream account to view our live and recorded events. You can sign up for a free account if you would like to receive notifications when we go live or when we post new events.

Links to the handouts will be posted on the event page. Certificates of attendance are available for attending the live event stream and can be accessed by completing a workshop evaluation after the event.

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI): First Steps

    Learn how your youth can apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to help meet his or her postsecondary education, training, employment, and independent living goals.
  • ABCs of the IEP for Transition-age Students and Their Parent

    Date: Wednesday, April 11, 2018 — 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Location: Marshall
    The Individual with Disabilities Education ACT (IDEA)requires schools to invite youth with disabilities to attend the IEP team meeting for transition planning. This workshop will help students with IEP’s in eight grade and higher and their parents understand how to use the IEP to assist with the transition to adulthood.
  • Transition: Pathway to the Future

    Date: Thursday, April 12, 2018 — 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Location: Willmar
    This workshop will help parents of children with disabilities understand how to use the Individualized Education Program (IEP) to develop transition services that support their youth in planning for life after high school. Parents of students in the eight grade and beyond are encouraged to attend.
  • Special Events : PACER’s 14th Annual Housing Resource and Information Fair

    Date: Saturday, April 14, 2018 — 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
    Families can meet with service providers, state and county representatives, along with representatives from referral organizations to discuss housing options, services, supports, and related issues for children and young adults with disabilities.
  • What Families Need to Know about Youth Career Pathways and WorkForce Centers

    Date: Thursday, April 19, 2018 — 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
    Location: Rush City
    Families will learn about career planning options for in-school and out-of-school youth with disabilities, and where to find help launching youth on the path to employment.
