PACER’s Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying on Oct. 3 Marks Beginning of National Bullying Prevention Month

Minneapolis: The Twin Cities community is invited to kick off National Bullying Prevention Month at PACER’s Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying on Oct. 3. Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, enjoy free snacks and beverages, take pictures with the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders and Viktor the Viking, and more! Participants are encouraged to wear orange to the event and gather pledges from family, friends, co-workers, and local businesses.

“Participating in Run, Walk, Roll shows our communities that we are together against bullying,” said Julie Hertzog, director of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, which is based in Minneapolis. “We are asking everyone to join us and show students who are bullied that they have the right to feel safe at school, in the neighborhood, and while online.”

The 6th Annual Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying, presented by American Dairy Queen and Friends of PACER, features a 4-mile chip-timed run and 2-mile walk or roll, and offers an opportunity for adults and students to help raise awareness and funds to support bullying prevention. It will be held at Normandale Lake Park, Normandale Blvd. and W. 84th St., in Bloomington, Minn.

Event check-in and onsite registration is at 9 a.m., and free parking is available in the large lot off of W. 84th St. and Chalet Road. The run and walk or roll begins at 10 a.m., followed by entertainment, guest speakers, and family fun, including activities for kids, door prizes, snacks and beverages, face painting, and a photo booth. Participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and water bottle, and a Dairy Queen Dilly® Bar after the race. “We are so thankful to all of our partners, including the Minnesota Vikings, American Dairy Queen, Instagram, and Facebook,” said Paula Goldberg, PACER’s executive director. “We are all joining together against bullying.”

The entry fee is $20 per person for adults, $10 for ages 7 to 15, and free for children 6 and under. To register, visit PACER.org/bullying/nbpm/RunWalkRoll or call (952) 838-9000.
