Teen site named to Best Web Resource list

Teens Against Bullying.org has been named one of the “Best Web Resources for Counselors” according to Masters In Counseling.org, an informational tool for students who may want to enroll in an online degree program in counseling. Teens Against Bullying.org is listed under the category of “School and Children's Counseling.”

Disney shows support at MOA Event

The Next Big Thing cast appeared at the Mall of America in Minnesota Saturday, Oct. 27, to promote "Make a Difference Day" and Disney’s "Friends for Change" in conjunction with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Disney has provided generous support for the National Bullying Prevention Center. The show’s Oct. 2 segment examined “Bullying: A National Epidemic” and pointed viewers to PACER’s resources.

When Hollywood teens talk, kids listen. That is the message in an Oct. 4 article on “Shine,” the lifestyle site for women from Yahoo! which is featuring the latest public service announcement from PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. The PSA includes more than 10 young actors and musicians from Nickelodeon and Disney who are reaching out to their peers with a positive message about bullying prevention. Read more

Hip Hop Artist Lil Crazed Supports PACER With His Innovative Campaign to Prevent Bullying

TEASE: To Encourage A Safe Environment. That is the theme of an innovative bullying prevention campaign by hip hop artist Lil Crazed that launched Sept. 26. The powerful music video for his latest song “Tick Tock” opens by sharing the story of how PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center is working to change the culture and help keep children safe. Lil Crazed, who will perform at PACER’S Run Walk Roll Against Bullying Oct. 6 in Bloomington, Minn., is urging his fans from all over the world to support the cause, and proceeds from iTunes and merchandise sales will be donated to PACER.  Watch the video

Stopbullying.gov, the federal government’s bullying prevention website, explores the history of National Bullying Prevention Month in an Oct. 2 article. Written by Deborah Temkin of the U.S. Department of Education and Julie Holmquist of PACER, the story describes how PACER launched the campaign in 2006 that has now grown into a national movement. It also highlights the importance of Unity Day on Oct. 10 when students, parents, and educators across the country will unite in support of those who have been bullied.  Read more

The National Education Association (NEA) publication “NEA Today” offers tips for educators and parents in an article published Oct. 3 to kick off National Bullying Prevention Month. Julie Hertzog, director of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, offers readers helpful advice on how students, educators, and parents can each take action to prevent bullying. As part of National Bullying Prevention Month, the NEA has its own campaign called “Bully Free Starts With Me.”  Read more
