PACER Center helps to address neurodiversity in the workplace

Date: Wednesday, October 1
Location: Wells Fargo offices, Minneapolis

PACER Center has been instrumental in bringing a free, full-day Neurodiversity Initiative Design Workshop to employers in the Twin Cities metro area this October. The workshop is a part of a series developed and delivered by UConn’s Wells Fargo Center for Neurodiversity and Inclusive Employment and Wells Fargo. It will take place at Wells Fargo’s offices in Minneapolis on Wednesday, October 1.

Research has shown that organizations who employ people with disabilities consistently have higher revenue, higher productivity, and an expanded talent pool. PACER Center, a leader in the disability advocacy community, has gathered some of the Twin Cities’ largest companies, including several in the Fortune 500 to rethink their workforce practices through the lens of neurodivergence.

During the event, small teams from 17 large companies will work step-by-step through their talent management practices in the context of neuroinclusion. They will focus on strategies that will help increase employee engagement and retention, improve manager effectiveness, expand access to talent, and build high-performing teams. A key element of the workshop will be leveraging the highly skilled—yet often underutilized—talent pool of neurodivergent professionals, including those with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
