EXploring Interests in Technology and Engineering
EX.I.T.E. Camps, developed 8 years ago through an IBM initiative, are now a worldwide event— with camps in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The mission of EX.I.T.E. Camp is to empower middle school girls in the fields of math, science, and engineering. EX.I.T.E. Camp provides a safe and supported environment for hands-on learning as well as a place to meet new friends and create lasting memories.
For the sixth consecutive year, IBM and PACER Center are collaborating to present a camp specifically for middle school girls with disabilities. Technology experts, scientists, and engineers from Accenture, IBM, Medtronic, and 3M will gather for five days in August and generously donate their talents, resources, and insight to inspire middle school girls with disabilities. Campers this summer are attending from the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota areas to explore technology in a fun-filled way.
The 2008 EX.I.T.E. Camp is sponsored by generous donations from Charlson Foundation, Excel Energy, H.B. Fuller Corporation, IBM, and the Medtronic Foundation.
