CA Luther Burbank School District - Luther Burbank School We will be having weekly activities for the month of October at our school on raising awareness about bullying.
CA Mackroad partnership We are attending a local summer night life event for kids and speaking out to the community. We are educating children on bullying and handing out information linking them to the safe place to go.
CA James L. Day Middle School, SWAK (Students With Amazing Kindness) SWAK is a leadership group that strives to promote kindness and works hard to make our school a better place. They also conduct bullying prevention forums for incoming 6th graders. In addition, they provide a friendly place in the lunch area called the "Welcome" table for new students or kids who would like to make new friends. This is a great safe haven for kids considered to be "loners". They create and implement activities for Because Nice Matters week. SWAK also designs and creates inspirational and encouraging kindness posters that are hung up throughout the school. They conduct new student tours and welcome those students to our school. Finally, SWAK tutors students twice a week before and after school and also works with special needs students each week.
CA Circle of Friends- The Path to Inclusion Circle of Friends (CoF) is a social and language skills program of inclusion that provides valuable support to students with special needs. CoF establishes friendships between students with disabilities and their trained, non-disabled peers as both interact meaningfully in a natural environment. CoF provides a systematic approach to teaching and supporting the social and life skills that enable students with disabilities to lead productive and engaged lives. CoF helps everyone discover that people are people and embrace individuality.
CA Blind Judo Foundation/Cahill's Judo Academy Coach Willy Cahill of Cahill's Judo Academy and Co-Founder of the Blind Judo Foundation has no tolerance for bullying. All instructors are alert to any and all forms of bullying with a zero tolerance approach to civility.
CA Speak Out Against Bullying Inc Year round we raise awareness to the community at large by providing workshops for students, educators and parents. October National Bullying Prevention Month we have the largest kick off in Los Angeles with 1,000 students. We also host Run, Walk & Roll events. Prevention is Key.

CA John Muir Elementary We are implementing "Be the Change Month" during the month of October. Students have a daily kindness challenge and weekly collaborative competitions (where working together is key to success). In addition, the school counselor will be focusing her classroom lessons on empathy and kindness. The counselor also utilizes research based bullying prevention curriculum for weekly classroom lessons all year, and leads a girls empowerment group to reduce relational aggression. Our school will be having a parent night in which the topic of bullying will be discussed, and student council has put up "Be the Change" signage throughout the school. Lastly, our school will also be participating in "The Great Kindness Challenge" in January. We want students to know that "being respectful" is not just a rule to follow, but it is also their right as a person to be respected.

CA Hesperia High School HHS Peer Counseling club and Link crew have teamed up for a month of promoting National Bullying Prevention Month. HI Hawaii Youth Services Network We have recently completed a bullying prevention video and a 30-second PSA that are culturally relevant for Asian and Pacific Islander youth. Eleven youth participated on the production crew (youngest was aged 11) The cast and crew included several persons with disabilities and individuals who had experienced bullying. In the coming year, we will develop a bullying bystander PSA and conduct training on bullying with youth workers.

KS Be Kind You Can't Rewind I am an award winning children's singer/songwriter from Kansas. I have a program called "Be Kind You Can't Rewind" that includes music about treating others with kindness, bully prevention tips and tips on dealing with bullies. The main focus of the program is to focus on the positiveness of treating others with kindness and the Be Kind Week Challenge. The Be Kind Week Challenge uses a theme song for each day, a list of suggested ways to practice kindness, and to keep a daily journal of how you treated others during the week. At the end of the week children write a summary of the week. What a great way to see if you are writing a story you can be proud of.

MA The Folklore Theatre Company The Folklore Theatre Company has been a fearless leader against bullying in Cape Ann, MA since 2011. We work with all ages to raise awareness by creating plays on the subject, and providing outstanding mentorship and programming.
MA Athol Community Elementary School School guidance counselors will be presenting weekly bullying prevention lessons to students in grades K-4 for the month of October. The school will participate in Unity Day as well as presenting a bullying prevention theme during our all school meeting.
MD Manchester Elementary School (Manchester, MD) On October 19th, Unity Day, all of the students and staff at our school will wear orange. We will have a school-wide assembly. At the assembly we will have a Unity Day banner displayed that will be signed by all students and staff to show we are united against bullying. We will also have students give brief speeches about bullying, play Unity videos and sing/dance to Unity songs. Lastly, throughout the month of October teachers will be using resources in the classroom to instruct students about bullying and bullying prevention.

MD We Lead By Example, Inc./Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems We Lead By Example, Inc./Tae Kwon Do Ramblers Self-Defense Systems is a leader in dealing with bullying behavior that affects people of all ages. Grandmaster/Dr. Clifford Thomas teaches bullying prevention and self-defense in his martial arts classes throughout the year. Our organization hosts community workshops and seminars that directly address bullying and crosscutting issues. In April 2016, Dr. Thomas was interviewed on television about the bullying and child sexual abuse prevention programs he provides for local elementary schools. He lobbies elected officials to support these efforts and make much-needed reforms. He continues to provide free seminars at senior living facilities and will again convene a free community workshop geared to older people who are also victims of bullying behavior. In October, our organization will join PACER and host its second annual community walk and rally against bullying.
MD Woodridge Elementary School Woodridge Wildcats will participate in Unity Day by wearing Orange. Our students will also create connecting orange strips to be displayed in our school. This is the way that we will demonstrate our unity against bullying.
MD Calvert Education Calvert staff and faculty will be promoting awareness of Unity Day again this year by wearing orange in observance of the day and through sharing and discussion of bullying prevention through our social media channels.
MD Muslim Community School We ordered the toolkit and will be hanging up posters and passing out stickers. Individual classroom teachers will be participating in the Project Connect activity as well as roleplaying and discussions.

NC Stand UP Speak OUT Catawba Valley Hickory, NC. - Stand UP Speak OUT of Catawba Valley is hosting its 2nd Stand Up to Bullying concert tour at local area elementary and middle schools and after school programs. The One Voice Project is like no other anti-bullying effort! Bullying is an ongoing issue that continues to affect children, teens and even adults across the United States. The One Voice Project is a peer-to-peer community service program made up of teen musicians who perform music-fueled programs and concerts in addition to sharing personal bullying experiences and talking about bullying prevention options. OH Hurt Ends And Development Starts We have recently developed a program entitled Project PREDICT which stands for Prevent Reduce Eliminate Destructive Incidents & Cultures Therapeutically. Our aim is to strengthen the cultures of the schools that we go into by speaking with students and teachers to get an idea of the culture of the school. Our program is not that of a crime and punishment nature. We are mandated reporters, however our goal is to build on the positives. SC Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Safe and Humane Schools within the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life at Clemson University is the home of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) in the North, South, and Central America. We provide training and consultation to over 7000 schools implementing the program. WA Exceptional Families Network / Special Families of Puget Sound We are a Washington nonprofit organization working with families who have children with special needs. A majority of those exceptional children have some form of autism, but we welcome any diagnosis, disability or difference. WA Allies In Action (An elementary anti-bullying after school group) Allies In Action is a program for 2nd-5th graders teaching how to be an ally; to oneself, others and the community. Students explore leadership skills, conflict resolution, team building and self-awareness through experiential exercises and art. On October 13th, Allies In Action will be hosting a school event to paint Peace Rocks to spread throughout the community. The theme will be Radical Empathy. This event will help get students excited for Unity Day and engage families. Additionally, Allies In Action is partnering with the school Geiger Montessori ASB club to continue to promote and create a safe, inclusive school community.

WI Power Gurlz Girls ages 10-13 will have the opportunity to provide ideas and implement those ideas in the workshop held in October for Bullying Awareness Month. The idea behind this session is to allow such a serious issue resonate within our young girls. Unfortunately, bullying has been one of main sources of our youths’ psychological and physical damage. This session will help educate our girls more and possibly encourage them to advocate for ending the bullying cycle. This experience will allow the girls to be engaged, build leadership skills, conflict resolution skills, strategic planning skills, and relationship building. My hope is to build confidence within each girl that may be a target or may be bullying herself. Includes discussions, readings, reflections and break-out sessions.
WI Nuestro Mundo Community School We'll be doing weekly activities focusing on: what it means to be kind, a friend, responsible, have compassion, how to be a responsible and brave bystander, and an ally in order to stand up to bullying.

School wide activities are ongoing throughout this month. Bullying Prevention Awareness video, pledging, motivational notes and permanent art installation.
